Day 30 Official Challenge 02/14/12

Today I feel liberated!

I pushed myself the hardest that I ever have on my cardiovascular workout today. When I was ready to give in I pushed myself more and made it through to the end.

Additionally I decided to delete my Facebook account. I know this may seem non-sequiter to a transformation blog but it isn’t. Stay with me for a moment.

Through this transformation challenge I have started to re-evaluate my life. I have been looking at what I consider most important in my life.

Day 26 Official Challenge 02/10/12

I have really let things slip this past week. Between lack of sleep, lacking the proper exercise I am beginning to feel it both physically and emotionally. Today was just as bad. My hip was feeling much better but I felt like I wanted to give it one more day to heal further and do a good cardiovascular workout tomorrow.

I messed up twice on the nutrition so I won’t even post that. Let’s just say it was bad and leave it at that.
Tomorrow I am going to set new goals for the coming week and really get in the discipline that it requires to make it happen. I will consider today my free day and not take one on Sunday.

Day 25 Official Challenge 02/09/12

I guess life can throw quite a bit of “stuff” at you when you are going through a transformation!

Today was pretty rough for me. I was unable to get in any exercise. It was partly due to some hip pain I am experiencing that I do not want to aggravate any further. I am letting it heal a bit before engaging in any more exercise on it.

I am keeping in the nutrition though and it goes as follows:

Day 24 Official Challenge 02/08/12

I learned a very valuable lesson today in how important sleep is during this transformation. In order to transform the machine, you need fuel, work, and rest. These three elements make up the whole program.

For about three nights I have had trouble sleeping yet still had to get up early. Today, it caught up with me. I just could not pull off any workout of any kind.

Not only did I feel lethargic and did not desire to work this body, I was also craving some food that was not nutritious. That being McDonalds!

Day 23 Official Challenge 02/07/12

I have often wondered at what makes me desire to do some things and be able to push through whatever barriers come my way and some things, not so much.

I have found that with this program this time I have a burning desire to transform this machine into something healthy, energetic and alive. What changed for me this time?

Day 22 Official Challenge 02/06/12

This morning I felt like I had been drugged from the high consumption of sugar yesterday. It gave me even more certainty on how food affects the body and ultimately affects how you feel spiritually.

I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night so I slept in this morning which caused me to get a late start on the day.

Today was going to be my lower body workout day but I really wanted to get in some cardiovascular exercise as well. So, about 30 minutes after lunch I went out and did a 3 mile fast paced walk. It took about 53 minutes to do it.

New Blog

Hello. If you are a regular viewer of this blog or are just stopping by, I want to invite you to join me over at my new location at Transform The Machine.

I am going to continue to post on this blog for a little bit, perhaps even to the end of the 18 week challenge. These posts will be copied over from the new blog to here so it will be the same content. However, that will only be content as it directly relates to the challenge itself.

I plan to use the new blog to also post additional thoughts, tips, photos, videos, links and such that I will NOT be posting to this blog.

If you are one of my followers on this blog I invite you to add my new blog as a link off of your current blog and if you do, I will exchange and provide a link to your blog from my new location. Deal?

Day 21 Official Challenge 02/05/12

Today was my free day. I took full advantage of it since it was the Superbowl. I have to tell you right now, I am NOT going to do that again!

I am sitting here writing this and I feel so horrible I cannot believe it. What is crazy is that this is pretty much how I used to feel most of the time. I think I became so accustomed to feeling this way that I just did not notice it anymore.

It is amazing what effect food can have on the body. I feel lethargic, restless and my stomach feels nauseous. Today I ate pizza, chips, soda and cheesecake. I believe my body is very mad at me for what I have done to it.

Day 20: Official Challenge 02/04/12

Wow! Here I am at day 20 of this challenge! I am very happy that I have kept to this challenge for this long. Despite two days this past week that were sub par I still feel like I am making good progress.

Today is measurement/weigh-in day:

Day 19: Official Challenge 02/03/12

Today was pretty good overall. Not too much to write about so here goes:

Briefly, lower body workout was good. Felt good and energetic most of the day. Nutrition was ok. Nothing really bad.

Tomorrow is measurement/weigh-in day. We'll see what that brings.

Day 18: Official Challenge 02/02/12

Today was very inspirational for me when I needed some motivation after the way my week has been.

First of all, I have been slacking a bit on the eating healthy. I have been keeping in 6 smaller meals per day but not all of them have been healthy. I could tell that I have slowly been allowing my old eating habits to slip in again.

However, today, 3 seperate people commented that they noticed my belly is getting smaller. One of them was my wife. This is really encouraging that others are starting to notice my fat loss.

Day 17: Official Challenge 02/01/12

I am glad that day is behind me! What a way to start my blog eh? Smile

I have to keep smiling or else go crazy. I think smiling is the best way to keep the men in white coats off my trail.

I messed up two times today on my eating.

Day 16: Official Challenge 01/31/12

Today I decided to go for a fast paced walk routine for my cardio instead of the bike. I took my phone with my nifty Endomondo app to track my speed and calories.

While it showed I did not burn as many calories as I do on the bike, the workout did get me almost out of breath and the muscles over my shins were burning from the pace. So, overall it was pretty good but not really as intense as I would have liked. However, I think I need to build up more by doing this first before I get into jogging too much.
